I can not say enough about Schafer’s! We are a neighborhood family and live just a few blocks away. Every time I ever mention getting work done everyone always says, “you should check out Schafer’s! They do awesome work!” I don’t know why it took me 6 years to stop by the building we always talk about! (You know the one on Colombus Boulevard where it looks like a car drove through their building!) From the moment you walk in and talk to Cindy you instantly feel at home! They have open bay windows so you can see them working on your car! I loved that they are a one stop shop too! Our car was a nightmare to begin with. Not only is it a car no longer made, it seems that when the dealer closed down a bunch of misinformation was added to their system including the wrong type of rotors for the rear tires. Not only did Schafer’s try one, two, three but four rotors until they found the one that fit! Mike (the owner) was open and honest with me through the entire process which made me feel even better because most shops would just charge you more without telling you why! Schafer’s returned my car in cleaner condition then when they found it and I think that speaks volumes to their customer service. If you’re around it is ABSOLUTELY worth the drive to see them!! We will never go to another shop!!
Great customer service! The owner, Mike is a stand up guy and does good work. Had both of my catalytic converters stolen and he was able to replace them with a universal one, that ended up saving me a good $1000. Along with that, he offered a free oil change the next time I came in, which was unnecessary but greatly appreciated. All in all, I’ll be using his shop as he tells me what’s going on straight up and doesn’t penny pinch. Highly recommend.
I went for an oil change. The customer service over the phone and in person was super friendly & helpful (name dropping Jennifer for being so sweet). They send you an inspection update over text, and didn't try to push my (minor) car issues (even suggesting it would be fine to fix months from now). Seemed very honest, and I appreciated that!A plus for anyone reading, they do over night drop offs!
I pulled in because my engine light went on when driving on 76 East and I quickly googled "nearest mechanic". Boy was it a blessing I pulled into Schafer's. It is easily the best experience I have had at a mechanic ever. If I lived closer, I live an hour away, Schafer would be my choice for all of my auto needs. I cannot recommend them enough. They are honest and have earned my complete trust.
After receiving their flyer by mail yesterday, I decided to drop by and see if I could get a new car inspection today.I spoke with Jennifer and found her to be extremely helpful and friendly. Although by appointment only she was able to squeeze me in almost immediately. Jennifer was great! She offered me the use of their charging station and a good cup of coffee. I received a copy of the inspection via text and a call when the car was ready. Oh, and they even washed it!! Outstanding customer service!! Thank you
I cannot say enough about the level of customer service I received by ALL members of this business, especially the owner. It took a lot longer than anticipated to finish the work on my car. However, Michael knew I needed my car for work the following day. He ensured the work got finished even after the shop had closed. All staff continuously checked on me while I waited there. Might I add how AWESOME the waiting area upstairs is...it is like a little apartment! I greatly appreciate the level of care both myself and my car received here. Do not hesitate to bring your car here for service!

Dishonest inspection practices. They found $1,400 repair on my car and it failed inspection. I took the same car to a dealership the next day and it passed, with no repairs needed. I would never go here again.

I do not recommend this auto center. Not sure how Covid safe they are. Besides Covid I'm very disappointed and will not be using their services again or recommending them. Always trying to sell you something that you don't need, check your bill there's always extra charges
I really need somebody that I can trust because I don't know anything about cars. I do not trust them at all.
Always friendly, prompt and professional. Also, they get you a Lyft or Uber to work or home.

Upcharged through the roof! Brought in for an emergency repair. Asked them to inspect the car while it was in. Called me and quoted me a price, gave them the go ahead. Week later called and said wrong part its actually twice as much and an additional 500 - 700 dollars of work needed to be done to pass inspection. Get the car back and the inspection wasn't done, when inquired they said oh our mistake, we can do it but it will cost this much more. Very misleading, never again! The extra work I agreed to was to pass inspection why would you give if back after 3k worth of work with an out of date inspection sticker still. I brought my car there because I trusted them in the past. My mistake was letting them know that and they took advantage of it. After this experience other things add up as well, like how every time it has been there they tried to get me to buy a new battery. I just got one 5 months ago and they tried to tell me it tested low. Be careful with places like this!

hello friends and neighbor's. iBob, family and i has been customers ! 2003 purchased , needed loving, a lot of replaced shocks, motor flushed all fluids, more , would give a 10 rating.
Son of a mechanic , growing up, i can tell , trained by new technology markets, car dealers , small-businesses. the certificates on walls proves , all of the professional training , that cost the Schafer business funds, but that shows you why i am a regular, toyota runs so well , first time back here at SCHAFERS AUTO 2-3 years.
i highly recommend the shop.

Got a coupon in the mail for an oil change and figured we would try them out. We do our best to support the mom and pop shops around the city. After the oil change they presented us with all the things "wrong" with the vehicle that they were happy to fix for a high fee. One of the things they said needed to be replaced did NOT need replacing. We had already replaced it less than a year ago. When confronted with this information they said "oops, we must have made a mistake". Yeah, a $900 mistake?!?! No way. Beware of this place, especially if you don't know what's going on under your hood.

Rip off beware! My truck went there for an all wheel alignment not too long again and I had to complain to the owner because it still was not driving straight. He agreed to look at it again and the second time it was a little better but the steering wheel still would shift to the left when I would use the break or go over a bump. I accepted the job they did because my truck was in an accident and figured it was as good as it could get. I recently dropped my truck off at Schafer's Auto Center because I had a front low beam lightbulb out and to get an inspection. I just got a call from Schafer's and they are telling me I need a front end alignment. My truck never was properly aligned to begin with if a mechanics claiming I need a front end alignment again. There excuse was "welcome to Philadelphia " as if the location is to blame for my truck getting out of alignment so quickly. I ordered them not to do any work on my truck and that I will pick it up tomorrow in the morning. We will see if they preform work against my will. I do not trust them! Please learn from my mistake!
Excellent Service for my inspection, repairs, and a free Uber back to my office while they worked on my vehicle. I'll be coming back to Schafer's again for my next service.
I've known the owner Mike for a number of years now when I came to get some aftermarket wheels and tires. Service here has always been spectacular. Very organized and close knit. Now there is a complimentary "vehicle health" inspection which comes via text message. It indicates any issues or recommendations with a pic of the specific instrument needing repair so you can see it for yourself. There is no gimmicks here just golden service and I highly recommend to all.

My car was making weird noises and kind of coughing. I took it to Schafer's and they found the issue and fixed it in one day. Having 2 kids it was important that I wasn't without a car for long. So one day was great. They called with everything that needed to be done and the cost before they did anything. That was great knowing what I was going to be paying before they just did the work.

I moved to the city about a year ago and didn't know where to take my car for service. A friend recommended Schafer's and I'm so thankful! Mike is so responsive and offers great service. The last time my car was in his shop, he actually offered to have an Uber come pick me up to bring me to his shop to pick up my car- who does that?!? I also really like the text that they send with an automotive report that shows everything that is going on with my car. I'm extremely satisfied with the work that has been done by Schafer's on my vehicle.

I pulled into Pep Boys a few blocks away from Schafer's and there was a line and honestly no one was very friendly so I left. I'd never been to Schafers before, they were just in the right location when I needed a new tire. I stopped in and everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Thank you!! I'll definitely be back!!

Scahfers is awesome! My father works at a Holiday Inn and takes the work vans to Schafers whenever he needs work done. Not only does he bring the work vans but he brings his personal vehicles. I am a mechanically inclined person and I like to work on my cars myself, but one day at work I got a nail in my tire and brought it right to schafers on my lunch break. Mr Schafer gave me a number for a plug off the top of his head and stuck to that number, and time we spoke about. Mr Schafer is a very friendly person and bought my business via word of mouth and the way him and his crew presented themselves. Very professional and nice business, will bring my vehicles back for service and not worry about the hands I'm leaving it in!

No one touches my car except Schafer's! I've been using them for over 20 years and trust them explicitly. Ten years ago I had the opportunity to buy a Prius (relatively new to the market) and chose not to do so when I realized that only the factory could work on the car. Like I said, NO ONE touches my car except SCHAFER'S!

This. Place. Is. Unbeatable. If you aren't taking your car here, you're missing out! They took SUCH good care of me. Affordable, kind, and helpful. They lifted my car up, showed me what was wrong with it, and told me what was only NECESSARY for my money. Didn't try and scam me at all. They now have a faithful customer!
