I've been going to Schafer's for almost 5 years now. If I can't fix it myself, these guys are my first and only call. Fair pricing, great workmanship, and friendly people. Plus they'll Uber you to and from their shop while you wait for your car. I'll be coming here for a very long time.

While it might be a bit on the pricey side, they make up for it in service. They offer excellent communication, whether it is in the email/text reports they use to explain and visually depict diagnoses, or it's the calls and texts to communicate when you're car is being worked on and when it's ready for pickup. They will only work on what you ask them to, and while they will identify everything, they don't seem to correct unnecessary issues without your consent.They are easy to get to, and have enough room to hold multiple vehicles at a time without worries of parking. They even offer complimentary ubers to nearby locations for those who are dropping their cars off.Overall: Price = 3.5/5 Quality = 5/5 Service = 5/5

I called Schafer's Auto late in the afternoon ( close to closing time) and explained I was taking a trip to South Carolina and I had an issue with my vehicle. I explained that I had called various dealerships and none could help me until the following week. I believe I spoke with Mike. He told me to bring my car in and they would look at it. I arrived, and in a matter of moments, they took care of my issue, and then washed my car. Thank You Schafer's for making my car safe again to drive. I am on my way. I have been taking my car to Schafer's for a couple years now because everyone at Schafer's always has the customer's best interest in mind. They give you a sense of confidence that your car is in good hands and they are doing what they feel is necessary without going overboard to make some extra money. All work is always done in a timely manner with reasonable prices. I would recommend Schafer's to anyone who is in need of auto services.

Schafer's is the best! I usually only go to dealerships to have my car serviced, but the team at Schafer's has proven to me on multiple occasions that they know what they are doing. The prices reflect the quality of mechanical service and parts used (not to mention the lifetime warranty on all of the parts Schafer's installs!), and the customer service is spot on. It is very thoughtful that they call Uber to drop-off/pick-up for you. I had one issue where the antenna was ripped off of my car when they had it washed after the mechanical service was completed. Of course this was not Schafer's fault directly, and they offered to pay to have the antenna replaced without skipping a beat. I really appreciated that.Most importantly my car is running like a clock and I look forward to continue patronizing Schafer's for all of my automotive needs. I went here for my first time this week and had a great experience. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I set up an appointment and they looked at my car while I waited (large comfortable waiting room upstairs!) My car was fixed, inspected, and they even renewed my registration and gave my Volvo a car wash. Would definitely come back here. So much better than some other experiences I’ve had in South Philly. Oh and one more perk is that they have an actual parking lot that you can pull into (and not have to worry about street parking) and they will call you complimentary Uber to get to where you’re going if you need to leave car over night.

Got me back on the road ASAP!

My car had 2 flats in a matter of one month not only did they provide a warm, friendly and professional atmosphere, but they provided entertainment for my kids! During their 5 point inspection, They also found issues with my brand new car that were never addressed by the dealership at the time I purchased the car or had it serviced. They are very thorough and helpful. I won't take my car anywhere else now. Thank you, schafer's for always making me feel like family.

I had high hopes for this business. For the most part, reviews were promising. It began with just the need for an annual state inspection and oil change. Little did I know, it would turn into much more. Yeah, my car might be nearly 20 years old. Yeah, it might have an ongoing list of parts that need maintained. Yeah, it's been taken very good care of. It's a car I saved up my hard earned money for. A fairly rare vehicle, in this case. The inspection came back. Suspension bushings needed work and the coolant system flushed. With the go ahead to perform the coolant flush, I expected to be able to pick my car up shortly after. Minutes later, I received a call from Schafer's stating that my radiator broke. Understanding that the car is old, I was not upset. I told the fellow no big deal. He was thankful I was passive and agreeable to moving forward with the repairs. Now here is the part I cannot get past... the individual that performed the inspection and placed the new stickers, whose name I will leave off the post, cut into my dashboard. Obviously, this would have been an accident. I'm certain this guy did not do this purposely. But now my 20 year old rare car, with an interior that looks brand new, has a nice chunk of material split right open. It couldn't even be argued that it wasn't from the inspection - there is a piece of the old inspection sticker stuck in the cut! I find this unacceptable. To summarize: if you need work done to your car, yeah Schafer's Auto will likely get the job done. Tread lightly though. If you budget for a $300 repair, you may end up with much much more...

Terrific reliable fast and honest

Great service, super friendly staff, and they fixed my car up for me at a fair price. Very trustworthy. I am definitely sticking with them!

Amazing service and quick turnaround time. Dropped car off at 8am for oil change and inspection. They offered free Uber rides to locations that are close. I asked about places with WiFi and they had free WiFi. The connection to WiFi was great and they have a seating area upstairs with cable TV, couches and tables. They even gave my car a complimentary car wash. Throughout the process they sent text updates with what areas of the inspection performed well and what areas they recommend I fix, all areas included photos and videos. After the process was complete they called to let me know that my car was ready. 100% would recommend.

Came in because my skid plate was bumping the ground when I drove. They only needed to put a few screws in to hold it up and they charged me over 40 dollars for time and labor.

This location is great! They are super friendly, do a great job of explaining everything without making me feel overwhelmed or like I'm being "sold" to get something I don't need. Best Oil Change experience I've had in a long time!
