As always, everyone at Schafer's is courteous, efficient and goes above and beyond to make the necessary car upkeep a great experience. The only place in Philly we take our cars!

I took my truck here for 2 years at first there service was great and there prices were reasonable but the last time i took my truck to get fixed I felt like I got lied and scammed. My last inspection cost close to 5000 dollars and the time after that was about 3000 dollars where I was told they were going to fix my headlight bulbs for free but never put them in. The most recent time I took my truck there and the last time I will ever use there service my battery light was on and my abs light was on which I was charged 300 hundreds for tests to find out the problem they told me it could be the belt not turning the alternator fast enough or it could be the alternator. They fixed the belt and abs sensor that day cost me 1600 but over the weekend when I had my truck my brake light came on and abs light came on again still driving my car the whole weekend with the battery light on and abs light on Monday when I called was told I needed a alternator which would be 900 more. I finally got fed up and bought a new vehicle but was left feeling lied to and scammed by the service people in scaffers auto. If you do use there service be very cautious of what there doing and don't trust them like I did.
I’m so grateful to Schafer’s for coming through when I needed them in a pinch. My car broke down nearby and I felt so much better after talking to Jen on the phone, where she explained what the possible issues might be, and that it seemed like a quick fix. I got my car to them by 4pm and it was done by 8:30am the next day. I didn’t have to chase them down like other shops, and all the staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. The shop itself was clean and organized. I won’t hesitate to visit them again!

The people here are very friendly and helpful to get your car fixed. They are very honest.
These people are some no good shysters!!! They tried to charge me $649 for my flex pipe to be cut out and have a new one welded in. The part itself cost $89...I called around to a couple of places to see how much it would cost to get this done. Long story short I figured out they were trying to play me. I took my car to another shop and had the exact repair done that Schafer's Auto Center tried to charge me $649 for and got it done for $125. Tell me how is that possible unless Schafer's was trying to overcharge me? Do Not go here unless you want to be taken advantage of. Oh and @SchaferAutoCenter I pray you comment on this trying to refute it because I have the receipts!!! NO GOOD SHYSTERS!!! I would rather junk my car and walk than give these people my business!!!

Listen!! Let's be real. As a woman, if you (like me) know nothing about cars, getting car stuff done can feel like a crapshoot because it's 50/50 on if they're gonna rip you off.
Never ever that at Schafer's! They're incredible. Everyone from front desk to the techs are patient, kind, and so willing to explain what's going on, lay out the options, and help w/ pricing when they can. I go to them for everything, inspections to major repairs, and the twice-a-year tire alignment (thanks, south Philly roads).
A feature I really love: they send you a text after each appt with a link to a full diagnostic where each aspect of the vehicle is graded great, okay, and needs work, which is so helpful for planning for big expenses. Just another example of their transparent, customer-focused perspective.

I have nothing but praise for Schafer's! It was incredibly easy to get an appointment for the services I needed and the staff were helpful every step of the way. I loved that during my vehicle inspection I got updates and photos of what was being check and the minimal issues that were found. This gave me confidence that the recommendations being made were legit and not just a way to make extra money off me. I will be back for all my future service needs.
The best Auto service in center city. Friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful staff. I have had several of our cars here for service and repairs.

The staff I called and worked with at the front desk were very professional and answered all my questions prior to coming in.
