My state Inspection was quick and easy, no snags and straight to the point! I enjoy their photo documentation of the vehicle and the digital summary they provide!
Go in for a couple quick things. Come out 2 hours later, no communication, with only one request filled (at double the price you'd pay elsewhere). And what happened to the free car wash?

Mike and his crew always go above and beyond. The service is top notch (contactless payment, cleaning your car, honest feedback), the communication is incredible (automated reports with details and photos). You won’t find a better mechanic in Philadelphia, period.
I took my 2004 dodge in for a exhaust leakAnd not only did they put a great sounding exhaust system in my truck. They did a full diagnostic check and let me know of a couple of problems that they also fixed . Great staff and machines. I highly recommend Schaefer auto center to anyone looking for a great shop
DON’T BE FOOLED BY THEIR OVERLY NICE CUSTOMER SERVICE. They are sneaky, and not to be trusted with your car.Came to this place as a first-time car owner just looking for a state inspection. They overcharged me so much that by the end of inspection, I was paying over $400. My air worked completely fine before arriving, and my check engine was off. After leaving, both were the opposite. Days later, I found out by another mechanic that Scafer’s had PURPOSELY removed the A/C clutch relay from my car, which caused the air to not work at all, and turned on the check engine light. They acted as if they couldn’t understand why this had happened, but were the ONLY HANDS to even TOUCH my car. Just another evil mechanic taking advantage of a customer.
Very professional and reliable work. We have had our cars serviced at Schafer’s for many years and have never had a problem. Although we have moved out of the city, we continue to commute to Schafer’s because they are that good.
I was struggling to find a place that would help me with my out of state emissions testing until I came across Schafer's. When I called they walked me through the process and told me how they've done it for other individuals. None of the past four auto centers were able to get my vehicle tested or even interested in trying to help me do so, but Schafer's did. Despite initial some hiccups (my car battery died so I failed the first test) the team guided me through the process and eventually I go the approval I needed.Very pleased with the service and care I received at Schafer's and I intend to come here for my future car needs. The team was professional, kind, and excellent at their work.
So let me tell you about this wonderful place I came across by luck.I have been looking for a place to check what was happening to my car after the check engine light came on. I had no clue what was happening as i needed that to be off to get my car inspected. I called earlier this week and Jennifer (the best person ever if i may say) assured me that i can go and get a complimentary whole car system check to really find out was was wrong. Keep in mind its an old car and it looks like the previous owner wasn't really into checking internal issues. Today i went in to see what was happening to my 2010 Honda CRV. Anyways once the report came back she told me exactly what was wrong and even send it to my phone, so i could go along with what she was talking about, with pictures and all. She gave me the good the bad and the ugly and told me what exactly i needed to fix, so you know i would get in a wreck or something. Her calming tone and reassurance allowed me to trust her and do what she recommended. At the end I had to change my catalytic converter, align my tires and axes, and get a new battery as the old one was about to die. The other things she explained it to me and made sure that it wasn't a serious issue but that i should consider changing them once i had a bit more money in my pocket. Overall, what i can tell you is that they have my service for life and i will be going to them for everything car related. The management aka Jennifer and the whole team made sure my car was back to running in great conditions. And the best part is that there is warranty with what ever they do. I highly recommend it and highly encourage anyone looking for a local reliable place to go here. I went in with a smile and came out with a bigger smile. Also, they have this little section where i was relaxing and doing school work. Best place ever. Thank you guys
For decades I found myself troubled by unwanted car repairs. This lead to trial and error in finding a reputable service station. Honesty is a number one policy when repairing your hard-earned transportation, and with Schafer's Auto Center, I found loyalty, sympathy, empathy, and above all new family. Love you guys, and I can't thank you enough. I highly recommend Schafer's Auto Center to all in need of vehicle servicing.
They stand behind their work. I had a new alternator put in by the dealer. It died again after only 15 months and they told me it was outside their one year warranty. Schafer's replaced with a new alternator and offers a lifetime warranty. Lifetime! I'll never go back to the dealer again. The owner cares about his customers and provides great service. Thanks!
The mechanic I used for the past 6 years seems to have shutdown unexpectedly perhaps due to covid. I needed an oil change, my ac checked out, and my muffler started making noise. Having a good autoshop that I can trust is always a concern for me since I don't know much about cars and too many of them take advantage of that. Schafers was near by and had good reviews so I decided to try them out. Everyone was super friendly and professional. I really liked that they send you a link with pictures and video showing what they saw, and what work they reccomend to get done. A technician called me to walk me through it and share costs. When I came to pick up my car the owner Michael even ran my car to get it washed. They also had social distancing, lysol cleaning etc in place. Would reccomend trying them out, I will definitely be returning.
I went to Schafer’s for some exhaust work to pass the state inspection and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. We just moved here from Atlanta and had been to two other shops where we felt like we were being taken for all of our money. I went to Schafer and Mike hooked me up with the exhaust work and state inspection for a third of what the others were charging. He was super nice and went the extra mile to help us out.When you find a good mechanic you stick with them. We are a three car family and every one of them is going to Schafer for their maintenance and inspections. You won’t regret going here!
I cannot say enough good things about the service at Schaffer's. From the moment you walk in until the time you drive away, you feel like family. They provide honest and timely feedback about how to best care for your car. Having work done there is seamless, all the while they make you feel like their number one customer. I go back time and time again.

I've only been going to Schafer's since January, when I dropped my F-150's transmission on Delaware Avenue, but since day 1, Mike and his staff have been very professional at every step of the way. From initial contact to communicating the problems & cost of the fixes, everyone at Schafer's is top notch and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for service on their vehicle.

I always receive professional and courteous service when I take my car here. And getting an Uber ride home and back to pick my car up is an awesome perk! My car gets the service it needs and a bath too!!!

I have gone to Schafer's for a bit now, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. They always give me the lowest cost and go the extra mile to find inexpensive versions of the parts I need. I am a college student with no idea about cars, so they were a saving grace to me. They also make sure my car is clean and looks good, and they have excellent people working. I don't have enough kind words for them. They also do free Ubers home which is so kind! They go the extra mile to be the best.

I've been taking my car to to Schafer's for a few years now. Finding a reliable and trustworthy mechanic in the city has been difficult in the past and they never fail to exceed my expectations. They are thorough, explain car issues in a way I can understand, and help me prioritize what work needs to be done "now versus later". You can tell they care about their customers and aren't trying to make a quick buck. Friendly customer service, and they have coffee in their waiting area which is a plus!

The store is big and nice. The staff here are warm hearted and really kind. At the same time, they are also very professional. They fixed the problem of my car successfully. It 's a really good place to go if ur car has some problems.
Y'all. These folks are so nice.
I got sent over from Pep Boys because I needed to check out a slowly leaking tire. They do a brief but full inspection when they checked this. Takes like 25-30 min. For free.
I found out that I had a few other things to replace but they didn't try to upsell me on anything (all the other services I specifically requested). The rates are hella reasonable ($30 oil change? $25 tire plug? Totes.)
The waiting room is cozy lots of seating downstairs and up. They've got tv and AC. The upstairs has many outlets for your charging needs, and you can watch them do the work. They also have a kid space too. And nice bathrooms (single occupancy).
Also they email you the entire check of their inspection!! Amazing. (Plus they answered all my panicked questions about what is wrong with my car and why are they doing this big inspection and how long will this take).
5 stars and I'll be seeing these folks for my future car stuff.

I had an oil change and some filters replaced. Mike, George and the techs were very professional and handled the service quickly and courteously. The car wash was a nice touch. I highly recommend Schafer’s for all types of auto repair and maintenance work!

Up front with the price. Pretty close to dead on with how long it would be. Comfortable waiting area.
The guys really know what they're doing and provide friendly and informative service. I've found my mechanics
