Matthews Automotive was very kind to my wife in the past when she was traveling traveling through Salem and had a leak in one of her tires. She stopped at their shop and they fixed her tire right away without charging her for their repair. So I decided to return to Matthews to get a set of new snow tires for my 2022 Hyundai Palisade. Adam Matthews was very professional and showed me some options and recommended the brand that I bought. I made an appointment for the installation and did not have to wait when I arrived. They installed my new tires right away! I will definitely go back to Matthews Automotive again in the future. They’re great!
I have used Matthews Automotive to take care of my car for a number of years. I always have a positive experience. Adam and his team take very good care of me and my car. I immediately was given a loaner car to use last week. I knew within less than 24 hrs that my car needed more repairs and what the cost to me would be. When I needed a vehicle with a hatchback because in the middle of my repairs I needed to transport my harp to play for a church service, they gave me a bigger car with a hatchback and even put the seats down for me so it was ready to go when I got home because it hadn't been available as early as they had originally told me it would be. I recommend their service highly. I always feel safer in my car after they have worked on it.

I stopped in after 5 pm as my Volvo tire pressure was low from a long trip. They added air to tires at no charge so I could return to CT safely. Thank you for your help in a pinch! I would highly recommend Matthews to anyone with auto needs in the upstate NY area.

Matthews Automotive is always busy but the service is always great and the work is done properly. They will always take the time to explain before anything is done and will answer any questions regarding any service. The place runs like a well oiled machine.

While passing through Salem, NY the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid I was driving suffered a fatal malfunction so we pulled into Matthews Automotive. The owner, Adam Matthews was quick to diagnose the problem and placed us in one of this reliable loner vehicles even though he didn't "know us from Adam" and we lived 3 hours away in St. Albans, VT. Adam was totally professional in dealing with insurance matters, diagnosing the problem and repairing the problem. I have total confidence in Adam and his main mechanic, Jeremy and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to all my friends and relatives.

Always take care and repair - a great crew and trustworthy!
It sure is nice to find an honest shop that also is fast, friendly and offers a courtesy car.... I would recommend them for sure.
