They’ll charge two hours for 10 minutes of work
This is my go-to place when my vehicle is in need of repair. Yes, service can be pricey, but results have yet to disappoint. The statement of service is impressive in the way that other places tell you "XYZ was fixed" and this is the total to pay, but Metric Motors statment provides photos detailing repair(s) steps taken. so you know exactly what you're paying for.
Metric Motors came through for me and my partner when my car broke down on a holiday weekend trip to Taos. They got me in and identified the problem and shuttled me where I needed to go — and once my car was fixed for an honest and straightforward price, got us safely home. Their staff was not just professional and reliable but also kind and supportive — we were in a stressful situation and they helped us in every way they could.
Metric Motors understands that when you have an issue with your transportation, it is a big deal. Walking to the desk, Dawn was warm and personable and I knew right away that I was in good hands. They are busy, but they worked me in and I am thankful to their team for that. Honest with a great reputation, I recommend them highly.

Just not sure I trust these guys.Update:I do not trust these guys. I got four shocks done. When I brought my car to another place they told me the shocks were not what the factory recommended for my vehicle. No wonder three of them have broken. It was a complete waste of $2,000. Don’t trust your family or children’s life in these guys hands.

My husband had our truck worked on at Metric awhile ago—he just took it somewhere else for an alignment, and the new place said it did not look like the vehicle had the work done that Metric claimed to have done. Additionally, I had an awful experience here in the fall with a car Metric agreed to work on but that should have been totaled. Metric sent it out for body work after they’d done all they could, and we were told by two body shops that their work was no good. When I expressed frustration to Metric, I was told that “barking” at the shop managers was not going to get me my car any faster—at this point, they’d had my car for three months and were zero help in getting the car where it needed to go. After this latest revelation about our truck, we are never going to take another vehicle here and will advise others to do business elsewhere.

They were supposed to change the oil the instrument panel still says I need service in big red letters. I called them about it and they haven't called back so I know what is really going on ... sad really I wouldn't give them any Stars but that is not an option. In the meantime they are trying to charge me$226.18 for an oil change? Beware of unscrupulous people 🤔
The techs were fantastic at reviewing the work needed for my vehicle, complete with videos to show the issues. I'll take my vehicles back for service again anytime I need help!
My Xterra’s timing chain unfortunately was failing due to a massive oil leak that had gone on for years. I knew it was going to be a hefty fix and I know what I’ve done on my xterra enough to communicate with them. They were extremely understanding! Communication was a little difficult but I understand as they are super busy!! They gave me a quote (which was in the ballpark I expected it to be in for everything) and it took about 3 weeks to fix. They were great and my Xterra is back and running so much better with no rattling or oil leaks. Their work is under warranty and they provide details and pictures. So great!
I have waited over 2 years to write this hoping I would calm down. I was in Taos (1200 miles from home)with my Nissan X Terra and attempted to have this company examine my engine and transmission. I wrote on a note attached to the steering wheel to CONTACT MY WARRANTY COMPANY before working to get permission so that any needed repair would be covered. They failed to do this and I ended up in a hotel for 10 days and after handing them over $500.00 to "tear things down" They called me in like a hospital would and told me that the repair would be over 11 THOUSAND DOLLARS .I was given my car back having to tow it from Metric Motors with the back area filled with removed parts in boxes. Imagine receiving your car back from a mechanic in pieces after paying over $500 dollars and having to have it towed away! I had to sell the car for scrap. I had owned the car less than 3 months. To think if they had ONLY CONTACTED THE WARRANTY COMPANY as I had requested with a note with numbers and all information needed (as well as telling them directly), they would have had an $11,000 plus repair and I would have my X Terra rather than a scrap yard. Funny, they said I could "donate the car to them to help train their mechanics!"

I'm very happy with the service I received. I'm a single woman and I'm so grateful they treated me with respect. They explained what they did and I'm extremely happy with the 2 yrs guarantee on the work they did. I feel the price was very reasonable. My car is running so well after the work they did. They did a thorough assessment of my car, texted me an update with estimate (which was better than i expected) AND photos, and finished the car in the estimated time.I am very pleased.

Friendly, helpful, went out of their way to accommodate my time frame. ASE certified mechanics is worth the extra penny for a job done right. Also a 2 year guarantee on repairs regardless where the car is. They had courtesy drivers as well. No surprise or hidden costs.
