Very bad experience from March 2020 ski trip.AAA towed my brother-in-law’s truck here.Charged hundreds of dollars for no value.Took it to small shop off beaten path, guy hooked us up.
I have known of the owner for 40 years. Always had a solid reputation, started small, grew proportional, his reputation is impeccable as are his service members
Took a day to get a simple quote for front shocks on my 2WD Tacoma. Decided to ask the tire shop I like in Taos who they recommended for shocks. Saved $142 by getting a second quote and I got the second quote with no wait time.
We've had all of our fleet/personal vehicles serviced here for over 15 years. 10 vehicles total. They're fast, professional and honest. Taos is lucky to have them here. The very few times that they've messed up, they've always scrambled to make it right. Foreign or domestic, it doesn't matter, these guys are the best.
Despite being busy they found a way to fit me into the schedule the same day so I didn’t have to finish my summer road trip without AC. Very friendly staff, prompt service and great price. Next time I’m in Taos I will be bringing my business back to them should I have any other car troubles.
I’m from Oklahoma City and called Dave in an absolute panic this morning - my check engine light was on and we are in the middle of a three week road trip. Dave said he couldn’t get us in for repairs until Tuesday, but if we wanted to swing by, he’d check the sensor light and see we had a major problem on our hands. The husband went by 10 minutes later and Dave checked the truck on the spot. Thank goodness, no big problem and we can go on our way. My husband tried to pay Dave but he refused payment - said he was happy to help. THIS is the kind of service and kind of commitment to customers that would make me a long-term customer. Made an appointment for 9am for alignment. They said it would be ready around noon. Came to pick it up at 3:50, hasn't moved yet. Said it would be done by 5pm. Took 2 trips from eagle nest to taos, a day off work and $40. For nothing to get done! Said there was a hand full of things that need to get fixed first. If they would of pulled it in in the morning and told us that information this review would be vastly differentEdit: I was contacted by Metric Motors and they refunded the charge on my credit card. Still not happy about the experience, but I am glad they stepped up and agreed what happened was unacceptable.

I've took my vehicle in several times and always had a good experience. Until recently. I took my vehicle for some work and when I received it. I ran it to the car wash and noticed 5 deep stretches In the door. The truck it's self has new paint and when it was taken In, it was a little dirty but no scratches. When confronted, which was 15 minutes later. I was told that because I took it off property it could've been me, but I haven't even been gone longer than 15 minutes. The service representative showed me pictures of the truck he took before, but you can clearly see there's no stretches and he said, they were probably there before, but because it's dirty we couldn't see them. Needless to say I think I'll be finding a new mechanic. The employee or employees that did the scratches should've had integrity and advise a supervisor of the stretches. I'll be sure to inspect the vehicle next time I take it to a mechanic.

I really like Metric Motors. On my drive out here from California, a tire pressure monitor light went on in the dash of my Honda Civic. When I got to town, I had to quarantine for 2 weeks because of Covid, but Tim from Metric told me on the phone to bring it in when I could and directed to keep an eye on tire pressure. Very reassuring. It turned out to be a quick replacement of an affordable part and I was very pleased. When an early snow and freeze hit, they checked all fluids (including anti-freeze) and ran some basic checks to give me an idea of what parts throughout the engine and structure of the car were nearing looking worn, with a fully detailed print-out. Tim also recommended dedicated all season tires and a reputable place to get them. In less than two weeks, I'm all set! Very happy with Metric and glad to have a place to take my Honda! Professional, reasonable prices, a ride home if desired and very manageable time. Definitely recommend to a foreign car owner!!

Metric Motors combines superb technical know-how with friendly and timely service. I couldn't be more pleased.
As is my usual experience at Metric Motors this most recent event was really excellent.
I have an '85 diesel Mercedes they've kept running for years. Couldn't be more pleased. And, now they use solar energy.
We've had several service repairs on several vehicles and Metric Motors has always been a pleasure to deal with -- courteous, prompt, and reliable!
While on our road trip from Seattle to Taos, our Volkswagen Eurovan had an issue with one of its windows -- we brought it to Metric Motors and they were great. Everyone knows someone who has a bad story about their car breaking down while out of town and the local repair shop not doing good work because they're not local, right? That wasn't the case here -- Metric Motors was very professional, honest, and fair. Also, their dog is really cool!
I'm traveling from Vermont and they got my car in, fixed my rear strut (rubbing on back tire) in a very quick amount of time. Made me feel at home and got me on my trip in no time at all. I owe you all. Thanks Dave and Dawn!!
Like these guys. They have been very helpful with my wrangler any time I have had trouble on my yearly visit to Taos. Friendly, lots of advice, don't try to push you into anything. I'll be back for sure.

While I love living in Northern New Mexico, towing one's car 70+ miles to the nearest VW repair shop is not one of my favorite things... Especially when I didn't know anything about this place!
What I was hoping was going to be an inexpensive, easy fix, came back a 12 hour, $1200 (before tax!) job. I work for a non-profit and am a full time student - money isn't really something I would consider a part of my life! However, I need my car so I did some homework, talked to my old VW mechanic and found that I was getting good information and a reasonable quote for the job.
Well, color me thrilled when I get a call from the awesome guys at Metric Motors telling me that they did some research and figured out a way to do the job, fix the oil leak, and save me around $550 in labor. Uh huh. I said IN LABOR.
These guys knew I was willing to credit card it up and pay what I needed to to get my car fixed. They could have easily kept their mouths shut, and would have made a pretty penny off of me - but they didn't. They showed honesty and excellent work ethic. I definitely consider them "the guys that work on my car" now!
My faith in humanity is restored... Well, maybe just my faith in really being able to find an honest mechanic...
