They are the best repair shop in Taos. They fixed all of my cars and are good honest people. There's a reason they've been in business for 30 years.

We've brought several vehicles here over the years and we always get great professional service that fixes the problem. We picked up a truck yesterday and they have this cool feature that shows photos of various vehicle parts and discusses the status of those parts-very thorough and helpful to see. We recommend Metric Motors for fast professional friendly service.

Out of state driver. My check engine light came on. The eye-site and, cruise control wouldn't work. Metro got me in for a quick scan. Diagnosed a problem caused by high altitude, and got me back on the road in 20 minutes. No charge! Great service. Friendly staff

Not a place to have any kind of work done. Took my Expedition in to have a 7 pin and trailer break installed, after twice the quoted price and time to complete the job. I picked up my vehicle and went to Albuquerque to get the travel trailer my wife and I had just purchased, that night I noticed my passinger head light was out. Bought a new filament, didn't fix problem, got back to Taos, took it back to metric motors told them the issue, they said they would look at it. They said nothing was wrong then tried to charge me $125.00 for looking at it. I had no clue but head light still wasn't working, took it to a dealership, 30 minutes later I was told someone had removed the fuse for light. Someone at metric motors had removed the fuse for my headlight, I'm thinking to get more business, the $125.00 I refused to pay.

My partner and I have been coming to Taos since 1982. Metric Motors has been an iconic repair location for all sorts of vehicles since then. We were always in rental cars so no need to go to MM. However, since last year we are driving our own 2016 Subaru Forester. We were in Taos from 7/23 until 8/21/17. This year we did the same thing. However, an oil change and tire rotation was needed on the trip so I called MM. I spoke with JOE the owner on the phone and he set me up. I arrived on time and spoke with DAWN. She is a wonderfully aware and savvy person who really knows her job, and got me in and out in not quite 90". I wanted tires rotated but Dawn said Joey my tech said they didn't need it as they were new Coopers with only 6k on them and were wearing well. (They also did a huge safety check and I found that my brakes had hardly worn in 39k miles! ) I found MM to be honest and forthright. The crew there is amazing. I only wish they sold their very cool polo shirts!!! Come on Joe do it! With best regards and trust, John Wise

These folks work on my Mercedes and VW. They are very busy and run a shop that works on several types of euro cars. I've found them to be reasonable and honest. The lady at the counter is friendly and helpful. Other than going to Santa Fe, it's the only place I would take my cars in this area. They are not cheap. I hope if your driving a European made car, you've resigned yourself to the fact they need much more maintenance than other cars. Thus, prices for repairs at this shop can be hefty because of prices for parts and labor. I would go ahead and pay the labor cost. These people charge as much as my doctor, but you get what you pay for. update; I took my VW in for service and was expecting OEM parts. You have to tell them you want OEM parts. Lesson learned.

While on our road trip from Seattle to Taos, our Volkswagen Eurovan had an issue with one of its windows -- we brought it to Metric Motors and they were great. Everyone knows someone who has a bad story about their car breaking down while out of town and the local repair shop not doing good work because they're not local, right? That wasn't the case here -- Metric Motors was very professional, honest, and fair. Also, their dog is really cool!

I wanted specific tires for my 2006 Honda and Metric Motors was the only place in Taos that I found for them. They did an excellent job. If you, notice, most of the reviews are from out of town, You should know that I'm sure many locals know and love Metric Motor's work, this garage is known as expensive among the locals.

My wife and I live part time in Taos and part time in California - our 7 year old Audi Q5 has faithfully shuttled us back and forth several times, but when I tried to start it up last week, the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree, with four indicator lights indicating trouble & the engine turned over 3-4x longer than usual before starting. I thought we were in for a huge bill and painful ordeal, but a friend recommended Metric Motors and I'm so grateful he did. Juan fixed our car in only a few hours - after finding out that rodents had chewed some wiring, he replaced that and even checked out the rest of the car for free (confirming there were no other repairs needed & not trying to sell us anything additional). Metric Motors was professional throughout - calling the day before our appointment with a reminder and following up the day of with a diagnosis before Juan ultimately fixed everything. The best part? The price - incredibly reasonable. Thanks, Juan!

I had tried this place years ago with a different car and was not razzle dazzled but kept noticing that it was winning local town award for best place to take your car so I was reconsidering. After the 7 yr dealer warranty for my diesel ran out I had to find a new mechanic in Taos that was competent and would not keep it for days as with another couple of options in town. Over the past 4 years I have taken my vehicle for regular minor service and major odd diagnostics due to rodent damage. They have been what I want and reliable as far as mechanics go. IE diagnose, repair, honor their warranties on parts and do not not up-sell. They have gotten better at scheduling and turn around time too. I get it within expected and estimated time on the same day. Recently I checked around for a complete brake job in town and I found that while they were higher in their quote that I would be sure to have it back that same day and expected that the quality of care would be superior than others I had previously used. Well I am ecstatic that I decided to stick with Metric not only was it done an hour earlier but they actually gave me a car for the day saving me a rental car expense AND gave me an additional discount with my Triple A membership saving me more money than had I gone with one of the others in town PLUS I have the proven experience that they are competent and will stand by the parts and labor should there be an issue as they did in the past on a much more expensive repair job where the parts acted up. Their was a prior employee at the service desk who is gone and was not a good fit for Metric but Renee and Jesse have been there a looong time so they are my go to's and Tim who is new, seems nice. Thanks team metric for making car repairs bare-able.

My car broke down while I was on vacation. The tow truck guy recommended this shop. I'm not sure what to say about this honestly. I got one estimate, then asked to get a print out of the report they ran to see what codes the car was giving off. That's the point at which everything got screwy. They said they didn't have the ability to print out that report, which in my opinion is horseshit, because everywhere else I've ever been does. They said they could manually add the codes to my receipt. Then all the sudden my $800 estimate turns into "well another part could have been damaged also...we'll have to see. Then that 2nd part is of course damaged and takes my repairs up to $2,000 and then another code is going off (allegedly) and if those need to be repaired $3,500. I think they knew that I was stuck in town, needing to get home for work, and they felt they had me at their mercy. I would have to pay whatever they said. Well I told them to stop working on it immediately and towed my car off. I didn't find these guys to be very trustworthy.

Like these guys. They have been very helpful with my wrangler any time I have had trouble on my yearly visit to Taos. Friendly, lots of advice, don't try to push you into anything. I'll be back for sure.

We were on a Road trip across the country and needed to fill up our tires with nitrogen. They did it happily for free which was just awesome, as we were pressed to find even a normal air pump at a gas station that wasn't out of service!

Infuriating. I was recommended this place by an old boss, saying he has a good friend that works here and that they're trustworthy. Needed tires changed out and a little maintenance - they break my bolt key and then tell me it's not their fault and want to charge me for it. I fight them on it, say that's outrageous - you break it, you buy it. They thought they were doing ME a favor by not charging labor. Are you kidding me? Labor because YOU broke something? I don't think so. So I argue more - well the lady that I was dealing with decides to turn the tables and starts taking my invoice saying she'll add labor in. EXCUSE ME? Don't you ever treat a customer like that. And to think they pride themselves on their customer service. Don't let the thank you notes on the wall fool you.

Avoid this place if you can. The dogs are nice, the men behind the counter and specifically the owner are NOT. What should have been a few days at most ended up being more than a week. The owner basically told me to shut up so he could talk; This was as I was explaining that the $1,600 clutch they put in my car was already failing after a few weeks! I spent thousands on hotels, meals and two weeks of rental car fees as well as had to drive home out of state and all the way back down to get my car once they did eventually "fix" it. They took a week to put in the wrong clutch and it's already going...This would have been a one day job and I would have the right parts for the same price at my shop back home. Shockingly rude, I recommend they look the definition of "service" up in the dictionary, as Metric Motors does not understand what this term means. The women working there seem pleasant enough however neither the guy who handled my order or the owner were willing to listen to myself or my mechanic at any time.
