Let me start with I am sad to have to leave a bad review here. I liked the people working here. I'd get a beer with them, they were cool, friendly, and seem to have good intentions... I took my car here because one day the electronic power steering went out. I no longer have a garage to work on it myself, as I now live in an apartment. I can usually hash out minor issues on my car, but I would not call myself a mechanic. With my particular car, a very common issue is the wiring harness for the power steering get dirty and corroded and need to be cleaned which requires some "minor" parts to be removed and couple connections to be cleaned out. Without my tools or a place to work I took it to Len's seeing all the good reviews. THE FIRST THING I DID when I took it to them was, I told them "the connections on the wiring harness very likely the issue", and to "please clean them first as it may be an easy fix". They very loosely quote me $100-$150 without having looked at the car, totally understandable. The next day they call and report the have not been able to find the issue, but they had a likely candidate, the control module but wanted to be "absolutely sure" it was the issue as it can be expensive to replace. This lead to asking to increase the quote just to run more diagnostics. Again, reasonable. I had, of course, assumed they had gone over the wiring harness as I had asked them to do first. Next day they call again after about 300$ of diagnostics, telling me that they had "checked everything else it could be" and the first step would be replacing the control module. The total cost quoted for the part and labor would be AT LEAST $3270 by the time I'm out the door(not to mention all money I can't even fathom from when it doesn't end up working and they start blaming other parts). Rough day! I gave it some thought, I had planned to sell this car soon, so I politely declined and decided I would take it back and find some time to clean it up and sell it off or trade it in. About 2 weeks later I am driving the same car without power steering to get through my day-to-day, when all of a sudden, the power steering comes back on. It only lasts until I turn the car off, but instantly I got suspicious of their diagnosis. Sure enough, the power steering starts to come on and off, some days on, some days off. I find my receipt from Len's, and look over the diagnostic report notes. To sum it up fast, they had basically directly supplied all the components with direct power and they had all functioned perfectly fine so therefore the thing dishing out the error code was defective. Anything in there about checking ALL the connections between these parts A.K.A. the power steering wiring harness? No. Two months of driving mostly without power steering later... I finally get the tools and opportunity to open it up myself. $10 bucks for some connection cleaner and about an hour or two of labor, I do exactly what I had told them to do in the first place, clean the wiring harness connections. YOU GUESSED IT, my power steering works perfectly fine now. Now I'm not sure if I'm more annoyed that I paid them $300 to ignore me, or that the first conclusion they jumped to, happened to also be the most expensive job quote I have ever received on a car in 10 years of driving(and I used to drive a classic Mercedes sports car).

Len's Automotive is a place I can trust to do a thorough inspection and help prioritize services or repairs needed. They honored a $50 coupon that was a few months past the deadline, which was very helpful. Although prices are on the high end, for necessary services, I choose them.

I felt I got in to have the work done early enough. I like to thank everyone that worked on my husbands pickup. I haven't taken it out for a long drive but I feel like I can trust it now. Thank you again for doing it fast.

I've been taking my car to Len's Automotive for a year and a half and am very happy with the work they have done on my car as well as the information they give me. They are very detailed and helpful with what the priorities are, how I can keep the car running and not spend a fortune that I don't have. The paperwork I receive is very accurate and understandable. The office, garage area and waiting room are clean and well cared for. A very trustworthy business.

I've always appreciated Len's trusted work on all of our vehicles. They always have been upfront with me by explaining the needed services, and their pricing has been very comparable with other places. We haven't had any issues with the work performed and will continue to use them going forward.

I love the guys at Len's Automotive. They are excellent communicators; they talk with you about your car's immediate issues, as well as maintenance or repair work it may need down the line. A very detailed recap of this information with estimates is also included with your bill. They do excellent, thorough, and meticulous work, in fact, they were able to solve a long-standing and extremely frustrating problem my VW's electrical system had that the dealer had been unable to figure out even after multiple visits. Finally, they are super nice, polite and considerate. I'd recommend them to anyone who is looking for a first-rate auto repair service.

Just in for routine service and head lamp replacement. All was fine except noticed the small lamp under one of the head lamps is also out. Believe all lamps should be checked. Not sure I received my 10% or AAA discount and also need to know what type of oil you recommend for my beemer.Kyle is great.

Couldn't speak more highly of Lens Auto! Took our car to Lens when it was making a sound and the guys were incredible friendly, professional and helpful. Not only did they get us in right away, they called a rental car for me so I could get to work which gave me a great price! They gave us an estimate upfront and my husband called three other shops to get quotes and Lens was the same or better price estimate! Then when they finished the work our total cost came in less than their estimate, unheard of at auto shops! Additionally - we got a call from them three days after picking up our car to see how it was running AND to let us know to look for a check in the mail because they realized they overcharged us $20 that they shouldn't have, amanzig! Would have been so easy to keep the $20 and we would never know. Honest, trustworthy place!

My Toyota Highlander would occasionally have difficulty turning over when starting. Len's took it in right away and within a day diagnosed a failed cell in the battery. They had replaced the battery three years ago and replaced it at no charge. They have serviced our cars for many years. We find them easy to work with. They do not do any work that is not necessary and their prices are fair.

- My wife and I recently decided to have both of our cars serviced by Len's Automotive. Angie's List helped us make the decision. Both cars were serviced in January and our expectations were met 100% by not only the CSR's up front but also by the mechanic who repaired my wife's car. Good solid work ethics combined with good communications from all involved.

I started taking my 2 Subarus to Len's Automotive last summer after reading all the positive reviews. The did quite a bit of work on both of them, things I had been putting off. They were very up front about costs, and what really needed to be done vs what I could do later. Since then I have become a regular customer. They just did a used car inspection for me and found an oil leak that is getting fixed by the dealer before I get the car. Thanks, guys!

Brought my 1995 Nissan 240 in for an oil change and then was told that 3 belts need to be replaced. Paid about $250 total. Immediately after I got the car back, the car made loud noise whenever I turned the steering wheel or pressed the accelerator. I waited for a few weeks and brought my car back on 10/18/2011. Bob took a look and told me that the power steering pump is broken and needs to be replaced. It will cost about $400. I asked him if he is sure that this is the cause of the noise, he said he was 95% sure. Then I asked him how was the power steering pump broken. He said when they replaced the belt, it could affect the pump because they need to take out the old belt and then put the new one thing. Then I said it sounded like you guys broke it during the process of replacing the belt. Then he insisted that it was not their fault and blamed that my car was old. Then I asked him what if I let them replace the pump, then the noise still remains. He said he would not charge me and would put the new pump back in. At this point, he also started saying that he was actually not sure if the pump is the cause of the noise. So I confronted him because 1 minute ago he just said he was 95% sure that it was the problem and now he changed. Bob was apparently shocked by this question and became angry. He said he would write down on the note that he is 98% sure. At that point, I already know that I have been cheated on. I said that I had very bad experience with other places and came here because of the good recommendation on Angie's list, but only found this place is no different. Then Bob said that he was not surprised that I had bad experience at other places. Then I told him that I want my car back. There were a couple of reasons why I believe that they were lying about breaking my car 1. The car didn't have any noise before. 2. Bob, in his own word, admitted that replacing the belt might affect the pump. My interpretation of this is that replacing the belt can break the pump. 3. He kept changing his story on whether replacing the pump would fix the problem. Initially he was quite confident, but then when I asked him what if it doesn't fix it, he changed to be less sure. I would never go back and highly dis-recommend Len's automotive to anyone I know.

Len's has been my automotive repair shop for over 5 years. They are fantastic and helpful. They never do more than you ask, nor do they gouge you for services and repairs. They do not do the "hard sell" and are upfront with costs and fees. They are professional and polite. They communicate in all forms and regularly. They have after hours drops and pick ups and they simply the best. I will go nowhere else.

I have been taking my cars to Lens for over 15 years. I am sad that I will no longer be able to rely on them for service. I took my car in this morning because it was running hot. No other complaints....running hot. Like other reviewers I was told there would be a diagnostic fee. In the five hours they had my car they took the time at my expense to check the power steering, alignment, shocks, spark plugs, air filter, fuel injection, belt, front brakes, rear brakes, tires, lights, muffler, battery, PCV, and finally my cooling system. All that "diagnostic" work to determine that the water pump is leaking. I received a five page report detailing all of the systems that they reviewed to determine that the water pump is leaking. And then they quoted an astronomical rate to replace the water pump, belt, and thermostat. It is really shameful for any shop to put any vehicle through this sort of costly review when the problem is fairly straightforward. They are trying to scare customers into getting more repairs than are immediately needed. I spoke with the owner when I came to get my vehicle. He is perfectly comfortable with how his shop operates. He doesn't think anything should be done differently and he had no problem taking my money for diagnostics that were clearly not necessary for the stated problem. Len's will never repair another vehicle that I own. I will recommend that anyone wanting to visit a good, honest shop find someplace else. 2/9/17 Update based on Kyle's response: I did speak with Kyle when I came back to get my car. He was "nice" but didn't seem to really care that I was unhappy. He has written all of the "right" things in his response to my review, but the reality is that he still is perfectly comfortable with how this business runs and the amount they charge customers. After picking up my car from Len's I took it to another local repair shop. I asked them to replace the water pump, belt, and thermostat. They asked how I knew those needed to be replaced. I told them that I had been told by Len's that those repairs needed to be done. They said they would check and make sure that all of those things needed to be done before they actually started the work. At no cost to me they checked my vehicle and found that those repairs did need to be done. They gave me a quote that was fully $500 less than the repair costs that Len's quoted me. The work was completed in the time they promised and in total I could have saved almost $700 if I hadn't paid the "diagnostic fee" to Len's. I have since asked other local shops how they handle diagnostic costs. Some said that they charge a fee, but then that fee is applied to the cost of the repairs. Others indicated that doing the diagnostics is something they do and don't add fees for that. All in all I find that Len's practices and pricing are unacceptable.

This place is on top of things. Extremely reliable, organized, and friendly. They took very good care of our Subaru when we lived in Washington state. We appreciate the honesty, reminders, and coupons. I've actually never seen a mechanic take such great lengths to offer emails with such good savings in them! Thank you for your excellent service and friendly customer service.

It saddens me to write a negative review for Lens Automotive. All my previous yelp reviews and positive as I feel a good job needs to be recognized. In this case, I was taken advantage of and in hoping it doesn't happen to anyone else. Last week my car was overheating and in a pinch I dropped my car off at the shop. It came highly recommended by my dad who has had his cars services there as well. (I should have stuck with my regular service shop The Price Brothers Garage in totem lake) After a look they came to the conclusion that it was my Radiator and hose among a few other things. They serviced the car and when they told me the price I was shocked but figured I trusted them and said ok. I felt uneasy about the amount all weekend and decided to call around to two other places To get a second opinion on the price. The two other shops would have charged me almost HALF of what this place charged me. When I looked at my receipt they charged me for things I didn't even authorize. $50 for a headlight change?! I had a headlight in my trunk that I purchased for $12 on my own that my husband was going to install for me- I just haven't had a chance yet. Bottom line is they took advantage of me. I gave them 1 stars because they do know what they're doing but have no morals or ethics. Maybe it's easy for them to do in Bellevue. Go here if you want to be ripped off. I won't be back and I will make sure my friends and family avoid this place in the future.
