Outstanding service, customer relations, and ability to work on different vehicles. In the 21st century, automobiles are not easy. Manufacturers make it difficult for independents by designing their vehicles without easy access to diagnostics, including software. Some, like Jeep, didn't spend a lot of money on lower level diagnostic software, while others, like Volvo and Mercedes have kept their diagnostic software exclusive and expensive. Alan and his team at Tierra del Sol have been extremely successful at bridging the gap, offering reasonably priced service in a very competitive world. I have read most of the negative comments here, just like Alan does, and find they tend to be are made by folks that don't seem to understand the current levels of automotive complexity and reliance upon computers. They have a simple approach without understanding complexity. If you tell Alan to replace something, he will, and he will charge you a fair price. If you tell him to fix something based on symptoms, he will do his best to understand your vehicle and figure out what the fix is that will eliminate the symptoms. Dealers, in my experience, do not always give the same level of diagnostic effort. They run their diagnostic programs, do what their software tells them, and often don't remedy the symptoms. If you are not technically oriented, please don't blame Alan for your lack of experience and knowledge. If you are technically oriented, take the time to have conversations with Alan and his folks in assisting to diagnose and fix your vehicle problems. You won't regret it, and they will appreciate it.

They really helped me out when my car blew a head gasket. They work with triple a so you can get a deal. Expect about $90 for diagnostics. I couldn't pay right away so they held my car for me for a few days free of charge. They were honest with me that my car wasn't worth fixing. They're nice and will try to help you any way they can.

Quick, efficient, professional oil change. We feel we receive much better attention than an express oil change service.

Hit a semi tire while travelling with my family and had to stop in Alamogordo to get my car repaired. Decided to stop in to this shop and was rewarded with fantastic customer service and a shop that worked hard to get my car done. Can't thank these guys enough.

Will never go back! Took my truck there to get a cv axel replaced. They failed to put the locking pin back in and my axel dropped out. I took it back to fix it and they did but To prove a point they pulled my driver side cv axle out, which might I add had the locking pin, then didnt lock it back in place. There was nothing wrong with that side and Now I have to go get that put back in and waste more money for your mistake! I will not recommend to anyone!- The problem was fixed in a very professional manner. I appreciate them going out of the way to get it right but still shouldn’t of taken three tries. They are a very professional company.

They did the timing chain on my Nissan pickup and I'm very very happy with my experience with them! Truck was in n out in 2 days and running as good as new, best place in town by far, very friendly, knowledgeable staff, highly recommend!
