Staff was very pleasant and repairs were done in good time. Good attention to detail and identifying concerns. I also very much appreciate the ride service to take me home and to pick me up after the repair.

They are the BEST!!! The ONLY mechanics I trust! I know that if I take my car to Combs they will get the job done, get it done right and not take advantage of me because I know zilch about cars. They offer great options too if you need to try and save money where you can (buy parts from somewhere other than the dealer). Plus, they are nice, funny and greet you with a smile!

About 5 years ago, an auto-repair shop that shall remain nameless told me that I needed a $1,700 fix for my $1,200 car to pass inspection. I asked Combs for a second opinion, got a thirty minute (extraordinarily patient) explanation, and sub-$50 fix. They noticed I had a tail light out in the parking lot and changed it for me in the parking lot while they were explaining why it made sense for me to go with the cheaper fix. This is just a top notch operation. I'd trust them with my car keys and a blank check.

Though there are dozens of mechanics within 5 minutes of where I live, I drive 20 minutes to get to Combs. Combs is such a fantastic auto mechanic shop, I am hesitant to leave the stellar review they deserve, because I know it will result in increased volume and waiting times for me! Nevertheless, I must say, if you're looking for a trustworthy, honest, and affordable mechanic, Combs is your place. The guys there are super, super friendly, and I've never felt pressured by them to get unnecessary work done on our cars. We've had breaks done on a CR-V and a Highlander, an engine repair and tire rotation on our CR-V, and routine oil changes performed on both vehicles. I never felt price gouged, and the work was always done according to industry standards. When we first moved to STL, our CR-V broke down and I had it towed to Combs on the recommendation of my friend. They were able to get my car up and running the next day! The one thing (though it's not really a negative) is that they are always quite busy, because, no-doubt, the locals have discovered the quality of their shop. Nevertheless, they have many garages and mechanics, so it never takes very long to schedule an appointment. Once your car's in the shop, it's done in a matter of days. Great shop, and truly glad to have "found my mechanics" in St. Louis!

I was so excited to do business with this shop.. Been looking for a trustworthy shop and this one had great reviews. Called on a Thursday and told them what part I needed replaced per Ford dealership. Combs quoted me a price, so I made appt for their next available day, Monday. Everything was great. Dropped car off and left. Until they made a "mistake". They weren't prepared to do the job, nor did they honor their quote. That's just dealing with the front desk. You can't get to the back of the shop, if you can't get past the front. Maybe they should be combing through their mistakes.

We have been using Combs for about 25 years. Always flexible and a great value. Friendly and never pushing repairs that don't need to be done now. Fair and honest!

We love Combs! We initially chose it because it was so close to our house but we keep coming back because we receive great service. Everyone there is always so kind and respectful. I never feel pressured to make unnecessary repairs on my car. I would highly recommend this place! * Note, they are doing an excellent job taking Covid precautions and I feel completely safe bringing my car here.

Went there on a whim when my tire pressure was low. They’re so helpful and kind and I didn’t feel as though anyone was trying to take advantage of me by overcharging me since I’m a young woman. I’ve been trying to find a new repair shop so I could stop driving to IL where my parents live and I’m happy to say now I have.

We have been customers at Combs since 1987. I recommend that anyone who needs tires, batteries, etc. use them. If they can't fix your problem, they will send you to someone who can. We have several "historic" vehicles which require special parts (oil, oil filters, etc.). We give them the parts and they install with no questions asked. Their employees treat you as part of their "family". That attitude is rare in today's world.

Being a “car guy”, I’ve had them install sets of tires that I purchased online on a couple of cars now. They really know their stuff and care to do the job right. They hand-torqued the lugs (no torque sticks, which can be less accurate). They also called me to ask how much air pressure I wanted in the tires! TPMS sensors were no problem on my car that had them. They also clearly support the local community. This is the kind of business I wholeheartedly recommend.

Everyone and everything about Combs is excellent. They've rescued me when I was stranded, fit me in as needed and keep me on schedule for general maintenance. My car is an '09 and I am confident that Combs will keep it humming along in the coming years. Without Combs to take care of my current car I surely would just buy a newer car. In that alone they are saving me a chunk of change. They take the time to explain what's going on, what needs immediate attention and what can wait. I could not be happier or more grateful to have found them.

I moved to the area five years ago and I couldn’t find a good mechanic. Scott and his team are straight-shooters. From oil changes to major repairs Scott’s guys do the job in a professional manner at a reasonable price. Thanks to all at Combs. Your the best!

The level of service and professionalism at Combs is second to none. I have been a customer since 1996. The same great technicians have been taking care of the cars while Scott and the guys up front take care of business. Straight answers, great memorabilia and a cool fish tank make Combs worth a visit.

I only take my car to Combs! As a single woman I appreciate their professionalism and honesty. And you can’t beat their fees! I used to take my VW Beetle to the dealer for oil changes, until they priced themselves right out of my budget! So I tried Combs; great service, great prices, on time, and so very helpful!! You can’t go wrong at Combs!

I've been going to Combs for something like 25 years. They have always done a great job. With dozens of visits for multiple cars over all those years, we've never had to return because Combs didn't do a good job. They have always been both friendly and professional. They have communicated clearly, met their stated deadlines, and have even gone out of their way to assist in urgent situations. During a time when money was tight, they helped prioritize work - telling me what had to be done right away, what could safely wait without causing further damage, and even what didn't really need to be done at all if i was willing to live with the annoyance. A couple other time I've gone in thinking I might need a new tire or certain work done, only to be told that the work I expected wasn't necessary at all. There may have been times when I could have had work done a bit cheaper elsewhere, but never with the level of confidence that the work would be done right, and that I wouldn't be back. Saving a bit on the front, only to have pay more later isn't a savings. I don't think there is another business in St. Louis that I've recommended to more friends than Combs.
