This is the best car experience I've had. They didn't try to sell me a whole bunch of things I don't need, didn't talk to me like I was a stupid girl, and explained all my questions without judgement. As a single woman this was a nice change from past car repair shops. Pricing is also reasonable and they explain all the charges so there is no hidden service fees or anything. Highly recommend.

Your shop needs to be the go to for Jeep enthusiasts in the Bay Area. You always go above and beyond and are a company that has true integrity. I trust everything that your shop recommends for my 2000 Jeep Wrangler and I will never go to any other shop for service since I've found your company. If people want the real diagnosis then this is the place. I'm telling everyone from experience that the fair prices and honest diagnosis will always come first hand from this business. Please don't go to some corporate business if you want true value and service, come here. These mechanics are passionate about what they do and will always bring their A game to the table.

First off, this place got a new owner in 2019, so half the reviews don't apply anymore. That said, I've only dealt with the new owner (and partner -- there seem to be two main guys) and am impressed so far.
The long story: I came in to fix a clicking noise upon acceleration that's common to Nissans. There's a TSB about it that involves greasing up some stuff, so I asked them to do it, which cured 80% of the problem. Months later, it seemed to be slipping, plus I decided I wanted it 100% cured anyway, so I asked if they'd try again, only this time with the exact brand of grease recommended in the TSB. They did, yet somehow the noise got worse! At this point, his theory was that it's a brake-related problem, so he kept it one more day, replaced a part (no charge), and VOILA, the noise has been extinct ever since.
The progression of events made zero sense to me, but that's less important than the fact that these guys nailed the problem and seem to have a stellar work ethic. They also charged a reasonable fee and are pleasant to talk to.
Dennis and his team are amazing. Had a great experience with our VW van. Professional, great service, knowledgeable - clear about what really needs to be done and what can wait - and reasonable $. Excellent. Thanks!!
Very glad I came here. Dennis & Justin were both helpful and direct through the whole process, and did great work at a price that was much more fair than the first place I brought the car. Highly recommended.
Dennis the owner was very nice, professional and up front. Price on my repair was much better than other independent shops and the dealer. There were no surprises. Would use them again for repairs.
Place was recommended by a few friends of mine, it was a regular car maintenance (service Now + Oil change), visual inspection, brake service, tire rotation - all went perfectly fine, my beetle feels like new again. Will get back there in next 10K miles again. Thanks!

I have a problem car and I constantly stress about finding a good mechanic that won’t charge me a fortune and understands the stresses with my problem car.When I called, they took my car same day. When I explained the issues I was having, it was great that he knew exactly what I was talking about and had knowledge about the model across the board having these issues.After the first repair and tests, my car was still having troubles but he took it back without charging me anything additional to work on it.Not being from the area, I get stressed out because I think it may be easy to take advantage of the fact that I’m not an expert mechanic. It’s super comforting to know that I can go to a place I can trust.Plus, I have a warranty on the parts 🎉
Always looking to support a locally owned business while not sacrificing quality or over paying. Griffin Auto Repair is a prime example of a local business that takes care of its customers and the community. The owner Dennis is always honest n straight forward and tells you how it is. This is a one stop auto repair shop. Will be back again.
What great service! Dennis and his team repaired my water pumped and changed my oil. Very reliable! Definitely would recommend. Will be going back when needed.

Took my Ford Ranger truck in as it appeared to have some issue. Griffin's Auto troubleshot the problem and turns out all it needed was a tune up. Quick and thorough turn around. Thank you.

This was my second visit to Griffin's. They once again exceeded my expectations. I needed my door locked fixed and my battery checked. They fixed my lock and checked my battery. Heads up- they can't check battery cells. They even replaced the battery in my key! It hasn't worked in years Highly recommend this shop! It's definitely my new spot.

The original owner vetted his replacement well: the service is still as friendly and efficient as ever. I dropped off my car Sunday evening for a Monday service appointment, and by 10:30am Monday I got a call saying it was ready for pickup.
I own a Saab, so it's hard enough finding a mechanic who works on them, let alone a mechanic you can trust. Dennis was recommended by a family member and I couldn't be more happy. He acknowledged he works on Saabs, and took a picture of one he currently had in the shop. Wasn't sure if I needed a new alternator but he tested everything and confirmed it did. A few other issues were fixed, and the car is now at 100%.I would highly recommend them, they seem to work on every type of car, old or new, Japanese European or American! Thank you so much Griffin's Auto Repair!
WOW! If you want to be surprised in a good way this is the place to have your car or truck worked on. Justin and the team were great - transactionally super simple - It is clear they love what they do. If they were physicians - they'd be the physician's physcian.

It was super easy to reach out to Griffin's. Big shout out to Dennis who knew exactly what I was looking to get serviced and took the time to explain the process in layman terms to ensure I understood exactly what was happening underneath my hood and behind each tire. Everything from start to finish took just a few hours so the job was done fast and efficiently. Highly recommend!
Dennis was like an angel sent to me when my car all of sudden broke down in mtv. I pulled it over to an auto shop next to Griffin’s and was told that they couldn’t handle it. Although it was already an hour after griffin’s closing hour, I still walked in for help. Dennis immediately checked my car, spotted the problem instantly, and told me that he can have it fixed by noon the next day. I had to pick up my car after the closing hour again the next day and Dennis arranged the whole process smoothly without a single complaint. I wish I were local so I could totally rely on Dennis for any car related issues. I highly recommend this place for Dennis’ s undoubtedly high expertise in auto repair, his patience and friendliness to customers, and his compassion to people who really need help.
Professional, trustworthy mechanics in the conveniently located spot. I needed new breaks for my SUV. Called, got an estimate, set a date, brought the car in - all done in a couple of hours while I had lunch and worked at the next door Bajis cafe (people, hospitality, and buckwheat pancakes are top notch!)Dennis, the new owner, made sure I had all questions answered. Definitely will have my next service done with them. Highly recommend.
